Recap: What is #PitchYaGame?
#PitchYaGame is a movement; first launched by founder Liam Twose back in May 2020.
Reaching instant global success over the course of the first round and swiftly followed by a monthly call-out to independent developers all over the world to #PitchYaGame. Fast forward to November 2020 we pivoted the event for the 2021 season to two times per year, giving a much friendlier and crunch-less approach to pitching. In June 2021 the number of pitches not only increased in quality, they doubled and we trended at least 12th in the world.
We pride ourselves on being the most inclusive showcase platform for independent video games with a global reach, allowing anyone, anywhere in the world, that has access to Twitter to pitch their games. To enter all it takes is a tweet. We are now looking to take our event to the next level.
#PitchYaGame is a journey of discovery for the developers that enter. It teaches them quickly about how to think about and write about their game in ways that best sells the experience. It gets them thinking about the need to promote and to create powerful marketing media to instantly grab attention and get across their idea in the best way possible. It also helps them reflect, especially for those that pitch round after round.
NB: What are the timings for the event?
The event runs for 12 hours; times are as follows
12PM to 12AM BST
7AM to 7PM EST
4AM to 4PM PST
All pitches pitched within the 12 hour window will be considered for entry into the awards. WHEN pitching on November 2nd, please ensure your pitch is in its own original tweet. NB: Pitches tweeted outside of the official times, quote tweet pitches, or pitches in reply to people are not counted.
TIP: If you can’t make the times, schedule your pitch using Twitter web to drop during the official hours to be eligible for consideration!

How can you get involved on the day?
There are tons of great ways you can get involved, whether pitching or supporting the event itself. We love seeing people hyping the event, before and during and would love you to help us get eyes on the hashtag and the pitches as they happen live on November 2nd.
Community Owners
If you run / own a community, get your developers to pitch their games. We want to see different pitches from all corners of the world, because that’s how the true hidden gems get found / discovered.
Press / Media
Write articles about #PitchYaGame, or provide coverage for the developers that pitch their games on the day, live on twitter. Better still interview them, remember to quote #PitchYaGame etc. so we can add their coverage to our press page.
We also have a full awards show hosted by Thom as well that you can draw from, post event, this happens typically 2-3 weeks after the event, once we have judged all of the pitches.
Publishers / Investors
You’re looking for the next best independent video games, right? Then just keep your eye on the hashtag throughout the day! Let us know if you ever go on to sign anyone as a result of #PitchYaGame.
