We’re ready! Are you ready?
It’s actually crazy just how quickly it’s come back around. Excited to see the next stream of pitches dropping during #PitchYaGame, LIVE on Twitter November 2nd 2021. So close.
Shifting the format to twice a year was the best move as we’ve created a crunch-less event that gives developers across the world the time to move forward with their games so they have more great content to showcase / pitch.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Official #PitchYaGame related announcements, content, events etc. are ONLY tweeted from either myself @LiamTwose or @PitchYaGame. Official tweets may also be tweeted by @IndieGameLover (Operations) and ImSarahNow (Host) or by any of our sponsors (per round). Please see announcement tweets for key sponsor information for your reference.

Sponsor info: This round we have with us at the helm Aurora Punks and Cold Pixel who are very generously offered $10,000 as the prize fund for the official awards. make sure to check them out and look out for their team(s) hyping on the day!
Some pitching tips.. for those of you who are getting ready to pitch!
Don’t break any NDAs or leak information. (if applicable)
Check you have permission to pitch (if applicable)
Most importantly, don’t forget to include the #PitchYaGame hashtag. Include a few others too for extra visibility (keep them relevant!)
Check out our quick how to pitch guide and some more tips.
Make sure to look over the rules to ensure your pitch will be considered for entry into the awards (happens typically 2-3 weeks after round ends once we have judged all the qualifying entries).
Only tag people in your pitch that WANT to be tagged in / or that are related to the project. Don’t tag random celebs etc. to get ‘noticed’.
If you are busy on November 2nd or can’t make the time, schedule your pitch!
Make sure your pitch is in its own tweet, no quote tweet pitches / reply pitches will be accepted as an entry into the awards.
Format your pitch so it looks nice and reads easier. Use minimal emoji to respect screen-readers.
Data analysis carried out by myself shows that video uploaded to Twitter is by far the best media to use in a pitch; for many reasons. Just bear in mind Twitter can be finnicky when it comes to video so make sure to get the formatting correct, you can find out more at https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/twitter-api/v1/media/upload-media/uploading-media/media-best-practices. I don’t personally recommend YouTube video embeds as they don’t always render.
Gif is the 2nd best media to use, followed by images.
Remember if adding media to add alt descriptions to help describe the media to those that may not be able to interpret it.
NB: IF you don’t include media in your pitch but you include a web link IT will not carry over the links’ embed when your pitch is quote tweeted. Always attach media if you are able as media carries over.
Once you have pitched. Immediately pin it to your profile. It just became your best asset. So every time people view your profile they’ll see your pitch! More visibility!
Whilst we only consider twitter pitches for entry into the awards, that doesn’t mean you only have to pitch on Twitter. Pitch on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or wherever else you are allowed / frequent. More visibility.
Have fun and don’t get caught up too much about the engagement / numbers, they’re incredible if they happen… however one of the most important metrics you can’t see is people ‘actually’ seeing pitches / interacting with people via dms or reaching out externally.
