Another phenomenal day for Independent Games!
Over 1100+ games pitched for The #PitchYaGame Awards on June 1st!
What an absolutely incredible turn out. Especially since it’s been 5-6 months since the last time. A HUGE thank you from myself and all of us at team #PitchYaGame to everyone that pitched and supported those pitching. Another round of quality eyes on independent games.
Not only did we trend (at least 12th worldwide!) which led to some big names pitching as a result… we also saw almost double the amount of pitches, from last years awards. For a full list of pitches make sure to have a search through the dedicated spreadsheet lovingly crafted by our very own @IndieGameLover
I think it’s fair to say we’ve got our work cut out for us this time round, with so many impressive looking pitches as we now enter the judging phase.
It’s fair to say the decision to pivot to two award shows a year, was the best move all round, for everybody. Our event is not only having a massive impact in raising awareness for Independent Games, we are now even closer to becoming an official awards show for Independent Games as the industry takes us more seriously.
All in all, June 1st was a phenomenal day and as a result we’ve seen some incredible games. Noticing a huge difference in the pitches, especially with the new lead time and also with the introduction of cash prizes (kindly sponsored by Xsolla) but also seeing games we’ve never seen before.
TLDR: Another phenomenal day for Independent Games.
News Roundup:
We’ve received some fantastic coverage from some big publications in the industry including Rock Paper Shotgun.

PLUS: Out of all the incredible pitches, one, absolutely stole the show; showcasing Viewfinder. Pitched by Matt Stark (one part of Robot Turtle). They’ve received some incredible coverage including NME, PC Gamer, Gizmodo and more; smashing nearly 600k views on twitter alone. Check out their pitch below.. fair to say, it’s pretty genius.
Thank you once again to everyone for what was another incredible day for Independent Games. To all those that represent the Games Industry: please continue to support the games that pitched, and the event itself whether it’s via coverage, funding / publishing / scouting, streaming so we can continue in it’s success.
